The programme will start with a short workshop focusing on Seva from 10am-11:30am and will be followed by a fun outdoor service activity (bulb and tree planting at Stratford Park in Newham) from 12pm-4pm. This programme is a great way for us to take an active interest in our environment and local community by helping to improve it for the benefit of all. It promises to be a really enjoyable day! Please can you make every effort to support the programme – we need as many people as we can get. We will be working with the London Borough of Newham and the Woodlands Trust on the day (they aim to plant over 2,012 trees and 6,000 bulbs in Newham's parks and open spaces during the course of 2009 – so need your help!).
Special Instructions: Wear warm clothes (that you don’t mind getting dirty) and bring suitable footwear and gloves for the afternoon service activity. You will also need to bring a packed lunch (and a hot drink in a thermos – if you need!).
Venue: The morning workshop will begin at 10 am at the Hariben Bachubhai Nagrecha Hall, 198-202 Leyton Road, London E15 1DT. The hall is a 5 minute walk from Leyton station tube (on the central line). We will then travel as a group to Stratford Park for the afternoon service activity. Please bring your Oyster cards or enough money for the tube journey.
For all enquiries please contact admin@saiyouth.org.uk.
Hope to see you all very soon!
